Described in 1903 by Reginald Innes Pocock, this is the smallest of the Avicularia genus. Reaching 4 inches as adults, they are the only Avicularia that keeps the abdominal pattern into adulthood. These striking arboreal spiders are native to Venezuela and Brazil.
