Described in 1938 by American arachnologist Benjamin Julian Kaston, these unique “Red widows” are endemic to central and southern Florida. Give them a tall container with sticks and beaches to make their web on. Easy to keep but not always available.
Things to know about widows.
-Widows are wild caught
-This spider has painful and strong venom, they should not be handled.
-Widows are for sale to people 21 and over only.
-Being wild caught, it’s possible they may lay eggsacs.
-Tiny widows are difficult and time consuming to raise.
-I can not promise gravid females.
