So basically the name “\u003cem\u003eplatyomma“ \u003c\/em\u003eis completely meaningless for this Ecuadorean \u003cem\u003ePamphobeteus\u003c\/em\u003e species. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThis spider is from northwest Ecuador and sport the “Christmas tree” pattern on the abdomen that fades as they grow. A large terrestrial species that can push 8 inches easily as adults. Like many \u003cem\u003ePamphobeteus\u003c\/em\u003e the mature males of this species are a brilliant purple color that is an absolutely stunning change from their typical brown color. \u003cem\u003ePamphobeteus \u003c\/em\u003egrow fast, get big and eat every time.
