Caribena laeta

The lesser known of the Caribena genus that is often over shadowed by C.versicolor.  Found on Puerto Rico and St. John USVI, this arboreal tarantula starts off bright blue as slings and turn a shiny gold color as adults. Described in 1842 by German entomologist Carl Ludwig Koch, these arboreal spiders will reach 5 inches in leg span.
