Looking up this spider can cause some confusion as the spider Aphonopelma cf. burica has also been sold as A. crinirufum (blue front) in the past. This is an overall chestnut colored spider that lives in burrows in the road banks of the Pacific coastal provinces of Guanacaste and Puntarenas. Originally describes in 1980 as Citharacanthus crinirufus by Carlos E. Valerio, but moved to the genus Aphonopelma in 1997 by Jean-Peter Rudloff. This spider is isn't available often and only a few are available.
