This smaller species from Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado can be found in pine forests at higher elevations. Reaching only 3” - 4” as adults, these secretive spiders are long lived and ow growing. Originally described from the male by Eugène Simon in 1891 as Eurypelma marxi, these spiders have gone through many taxonomic changes since.
