These beautiful Avicularia come from Colombia and Ecuador, however most of the hobby material originated from Peru. Super fuzzy spiders with white tipped hairs and a over all purple color to them make them popular arboreals to keep. Adults get 5”-6” and were first described in 1923 by Mello-Leitão. This spider has been mistakenly sold in the past under the name Avicularia urticans as well.
