The taxonomy on this spider is a bit complicated and the name will likely change again one day. This spider was known in the pet trade as Bumba cabocla for years. That species became synonymous with Bumba horrida in 2020. However, what has been sold in the pet trade in the past as Bumba horrida is not the same spider as this one. These gorgeous terrestrial spiders from Brazil and Venezuela get about 4 inches as adults. The bright red carapace against the jet black spider make them stand out in any collection.
