This small species from the south eastern mountains of Oaxaca state in Mexico are often overlooked, but are sometimes referred to as the Cyriocosmus of Mexico. I just made that up, but it sounds good. This spider is a monitypic species being the only one described from the genus Cardiopelma. Reaching only about 2-3 inches as adults, these terrestrial spiders aren’t bred often in the USA and are only available sporadically. However I have found them to be easy to keep and raise though.
