This is one of the most well known and kept species in the hobby. These arboreal spiders from the Caribbean island of Martinique obtain an adult sizes of about 5 inches as adults. Spiderlings start off as a beautiful royal blue color that goes through multiple color changes as they grow. These spiders were added to CITES in the beginning of 2023 and will now require special permits to import, so there will likely be less around. Although they are commonly bred in the U.S., they tend to sell out fast when available from domestic breeders.
