Described in 1907 by Norwegian entomologist Embrik Strand, this iconic tarantula is well knows for its beautiful coloration.  These terrestrial spiders  from dry scrub forests of northern Venezuela are easy to keep, making them a favorite from beginners to veterans of the hobby. The uniquely colored slings go under drastic color changes to adulthood where they are best known for their metallic blue body and fiery orange abdominal hairs.  It’s not a tarantula collection without a Green Bottle Blue.
