These defensive Thailand spiders are one of the classic all black spiders in the hobby, but with an attitude. Reaching 7 inches as adults, they should be kept like other fossorial species with deep damp dirt to burrow in. Described in 1897 as Melopoeus minax by Tord Tamerlan Teodor Thorell, these spiders have had a long history of taxonomic changes.
