Sometimes referred to Vietnamese black tarantula or the Asian Chevron, these big black tiger stripped spiders are a fossorial species from South East Asia. Reaching 6 inches as adults, they are impressive and intimidating at the same time. Described in 2005 by Günter Schmidt and named after German taxonomist Volker Von Wirth.
