This stunning spider from Chile has had a complicated taxonomic history. As well as there being several color forms, it can by quite complicated when researching them. Originally described in 1829 as Paraphysa manicata by Eugène Simon. After multiple name changes and placements, in 2014 Carlos Perafán and Fernando Pérez-Miles placed this spider in the Euathlus genus with the name Euathlus manicata. This slow growing but long lived docile spider are not often available. A small terrestrial species that reaches 3-4 inches as adults.
