This small fast moving spider reaches about 3 inches as adults. Not commonly bred in the USA, but has been around in the hobby for a long time, previously sold as Hemiercus sp. Venezuela. Described in 1899 by Eugène Simon originally as Hapalopus cervinus, but has since gone under many taxonomic changes. These is an easy to keep fossorial species, that just need a few inches of damp dirt to dig in, and a piece of cork bark to hide under.
