Grammostola pulchripes
Grammostola pulchripes
size 1” - 1.5” great size, well started.
Like most of the genus, this is another incredibly awesome pet spider. Grows rather large to about 7 inches. I’ve had some feisty younger ones, but they always mellowed out into gentle giants with age. These were known in the hobby a long time ago as Grammostola aureostriata, however it was originally described as Eurypelma pulchripes in 1891 by French taxonomist Eugène Louis Simon. Then once again reclassified as Grammostola pulchripes in 2009 by Ray Gabriel. This easy to keep terrestrial spider is native to Paraguay and Argentina.
