Another incredible species from French Guiana. If you have been thinking of experimenting with something different, I can’t recommend these enough. These incredible mygalomorphs can reach an impressive 5-6 inches. Heavy webbers that will cover everything in the cage. Just give them a few inches of damp dirt and a peice of bark to hide under, and they will do the rest. Their beautiful red carapace stands out with the contrast of the black legs, while their impressively long spinnerets almost give them the appearance of ten legs.  These spiders grow fast and are easy to care for. Anything that lands in their web will be taken in a blink of an eye. Only sporadically available.  Described in 1908 by English arachnologist Frederick Octavius Pickard-Cambridge.
