This beautiful black and silver baboon spider also known as the Elizabethfontein Baboon Spider can be found in savannas and dry scrub areas of South Africa. Reaching 5 inches as adults, these heavy webbing burrowers can have a bit of an attitude. Not often available and can be hard to find. Described in 1902 by African zoologists William Frederick Purcell.
