Harpactira pulchripes
Harpactira pulchripes
size 3/4”
Arguably one of the most beautiful tarantula species on the earth. I’ll never forget the first time that I saw one of these in person. Described in 1901 by British arachnologist Reginald Innes Pocock. This South African baboon spider is neon orange with bright blue legs. It’s one of the craziest color combos seen in tarantulas. The colors are the most vibrant in juveniles and sub adults, but the adults are equally as stunning. These were quite expensive when they first came to the hobby, but thanks to captive breeding they are affordable now and being produced in large numbers. Must have for any collection, you won’t regret this one!
