This species is known as the Giant Asian mantis for its large and robust size as adults. Varying from bright green to brown in color, keep this species on the humid side. When they feal threatened they will preform an awesome defensive display. Like all mantises, they should be kept in a tall enclosure with perches to hang from when they molt. Described by German entomologist Carl Hermann Conrad Burmeister in 1838.
