Holothele longipes
Holothele longipes
size 3/4”
Beautiful “dwarf” species that can reach a leg span of around 5 inches with time. These super fast terrestrial spiders have a pink carapace and blue legs with a pretty iridescent rainbow glow all over when the light hits them. Described by Ludwig Carl Christian Koch in 1875, this spider has been sold under numerous names and localities over the years since it has a huge range. However in 2017 many of these names were found to be synonymous with H. longipes. Like all Holothele species, these spiders build an interesting disk shaped eggsac.
