This small Chilean tarantula has been in high demand since exports from Chile closed down sometime in the mid 2000’s. They use to be fairly common as wild caught adults and could easily be found on vendors tables for as low as $30. These days they are all captive bred and hard to come by. Officially described in 2018, this spider was formally known in the hobby as Euathlus sp red. The mild temperament of this spider has made it much sought after by beginners and someone looking for a spider that can be gently handled. They are slow growing being a long lived spider, but definitely worth the wait
