These incredible mantis form the rainforest of Southeast Asia are a high demand species that are sometimes hard to find. Ambush predators that mimic the flowers of orchids waiting for unsuspecting insects to land near them. Like many mantis, they will sometimes rock back and forth to mimic the flower being blown in the wind. All mantis should be kept in a tall container to allow space for the mantis to hang upside down while it molts. Described in 1792 by French entomologist Guillaume-Antoine Olivier.
