These primitive spiders are sometimes referred to as Armored Trapdoor Spiders due to the unique segmentation of the plates on their abdomen. Beautiful red colored spider that builds that classic trapdoor as it ambush hunts any insect that walk near buy it. Found in the Shanxi Province of China, they reach about 2 inches as adults.  These spiders were described by a team or arachnologist in the year 2022.
