Known as the Giant Vinegaroon, these unusual arachnids were collected in Texas and are the real M. giganteus. Not to be confused with the similar looking M. tohono that is often collected in AZ. These are slow growing long lived creatures, that can live well over 10 years. Easy to keep, these alien like animals will feed on a variety of insects. Described in 1835 by French entomologist Pierre-Hippolyte Lucas.
