Hardcore Arachnids

Orientothele yani (ex. Macrothele) 1/2”
size 1/2”
These incredible spiders were described in 2002 by Xiang Xu, Chang-min Yin, & Charles E. Griswold. From the Gaoligong Mountains in the Yunnan Province of China. Originally described as a Macrothele species, however in 2025 a paper on Macrothele created 4 new genera dividing them up a bit. These spider where then moved to the new genera Orientothele. Don’t be fooled though, these spicy spiders are still full of attitude and are really fun to keep. Heavy webbers that will reach a little over 2 inches as adult. These and other “Macrothele” type spiders are by far my favorites to keep in captivity.
