Beautiful and impressive orange spider from the Philippines. Females of this species can reach 6 inches in length and like to burrow. Easy to keep spider. Originally described as Selenobrachys philippinus by Günter Schmidt in 1999, but later moved to Orphnaecus in 2012. However in 2025 a team of taxonomist moved the spider back to Selenobrachys. Really fun spider to keep and easy to breed. Give it damp dirt to dig in, and they’ll do the rest.
