Phormictopus auratus

Described in 2006 by David Ortiz & Rogério Bertani. This Cuban species is my favorite or the genus with its stunning gold color. It’s surprising to me that this species isn’t more popular. Fun to keep. Gets big with females reaching 7 inches. Big appetite, grows fast, and often stays out in the open.
