Phormictopus cautus 3/4”+

This rare Phormictopus is fairly new to the U.S., as in the past what has been sold as P. cautus turned out to be  sp. “purple” from the Dominican Republic. This spider is the real Phormictopus cautus from Cuba. This reddish-maroon colored Phormictopus should be kept like others in the genus. A medium sized terrestrial species that was described in 1875 by Austrian naturalist Anton Ausserer. This a smaller species of the genus Phormictopus, and one of the uncommon spiders to find authentic ones from Cuba.
