Rhombodera kirbyi “Timor Shield Mantis” 4”

Native to Native to Timor Island in Indonesia, this awesome mantis can get 5 - 6 inches. Also known as a “Shield Mantis” do to the expanded pronotum plate that protects their thorax. These mantises can range in color from a pale green color to brown. Like all mantises they should be given a tall enclosure that  has enough height for them to hang when they molt. Vertical branches and bark will give them something to suspend themselves from during the shed.  This species was described in 1952 by entomologists Max Beier.
