Rhombodera latipronotum “Shield Mantis” 1”

This is an awesome species from China and Vietnam, known for its exaggerated pronotum that gives them the name “Shield Mantis”.  Growing to an impressive 5 inches, these mantis will feed on a variety of insects. Like all mantises they should have a tall enclosure with enough space to hang when they molt. Give them vertical branches and bark to suspend themselves from during a molt. This species was described in 1990 by Zhang Guang-Zhong.
