Hardcore Arachnids
Sason sundaicum 1/2”
Sason sundaicum 1/2”
Size 1/2”
Rare arboreal trapdoor spider in the Barychelidae family. These dwarf spiders build a trapdoor retreat on the side of bark similar to Typhochlaena species, but with opposing duel style trapdoors. They tend to be found on coconut trees close to the coast, but will easily adapted to cork bark in captivity. I’ve even had them build the trapdoors right on the sides of the plastic shipping containers. Adults reach one inch and are interesting and easy to keep. Described in 2003 by Austrian arachnologist Peter J. Schwendingerl. These spiders are native to Thailand and Malaysia.
