Sphodromantis viridis “Giant African mantis” 2nd - 3rd instar

size 2nd - 3rd instar, around 1”

This species comes from west Africa where it stalks its prey in shrubs and bushes. Easy to keep species, but like all mantises should be kept in a tall enclosure with perches to hang from when they molt. Described all the way back in 1775 by Swedish naturalist Peter Forsskål. This species has since been introduced to several other countries.
