Cilantica sp. “Kali”
Cilantica sp. “Kali”
size 3/4”
This incredible species that is closely related to Cilantica psychedelicus (ex H. devamatha) are not easy to find. Only sporadically available over the years in low numbers. This burrowing spider gets about 4 inches as adults. Similar to Cilantica psychedelicus (ex H. devamatha) in appearance but with more of a silver glow and a bit smaller. This stunning spider was known in the hobby for some time just as Thrigmopoeinae sp 'Kali' then the genus Cilantica was created by Zeeshan A. Mirza in December of 2024 where this spider currently resides as an undescribed species. This spider should not be confused with Cilantica kayi that were described in 1915. The two names sound and look alike so I can see there being mix ups down the road.
These spiders would make a awesome breeding project for someone wanting to work with something rare. Very limited availability.
