Hardcore Arachnids
Ewok cyaneolus “blue” 1/2”
Ewok cyaneolus “blue” 1/2”
size 1/2”
This is a new species to the U.S. , however they are often confused with many of the other “blue” Ewok (ex. Thrixopelma) species from Peru. This spider is closely related and resemble Ewok cyanoleum (ex. Thrixopelma) the most. However the biggest difference is the lack of long red hairs on the abdomen as adults. Adults max out at about 4 inches. This is a terrestrial species from Peru that should not be confused with what is sold as Ewok cyanoleum (ex. Thrixopelma), Warmiru llongicolli (ex. Thrixopelma or Homoeomma sp. blue ). It’s even a bit to early to know if they are really the same as Ewok cyaneolus and just a color morph, or if they are a different species all together. Confusing but beautiful spider for sure.
